Our Mission

We, the Board of Deacons, will serve and encourage the congregational family and immediate community for the glory of God. We shall provide for the spiritual, physical and emotional needs by ministering to the sick and lonely, encouraging the troubled, feeding the hungry and uplifting those who are hurting. The office of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ.

Deacon Shepherding Program

Each deacon is assigned a family/flock that they care for. If the families in the flock have any needs or concerns, they can bring them to their deacon. Currently we have 11 flocks in the church, so each deacon is responsible for one flock and the Moderator’s flock is the Board of Deacons themselves. Please let us know if you call FPCN your church home and are not yet assigned to a flock. You can contact us at deacons@newarkpres.org.
