FPC Newark Prayer Chain

New Prayer Chain Ministry and E-mail Address

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”            Philippians 4:6-7

We are changing the email address for the FPC Newark prayer chain. The new email will be: prayer@newarkpres.org

How to join the Prayer Chain

1. Send an email to: prayer@newarkpres.org.
2. In your email, please include your name and your email address in the body of the email. It is not enough just to send an email with no name or email written out.

Along with the new email address, the Deacons have revised the guidelines for the emails. So please read the guidelines that follow to help us allow the prayer chain coordinator(s) to be able to do their job well.

Guidelines for People using the Prayer Chain

The prayer chain is open to people who are currently (or formerly) an active part of FPC Newark. Requests for the prayer chain will be mainly for church members and their families and friends. (Please no political prayers or commercial announcements).

Please send all prayer requests to: prayer@newarkpres.org

Please use the following format when sending a prayer request:

  • Include your name and the name of the person who is requesting the prayer
  • Include the name of the person being prayed for
  • Write a brief prayer request (1-3 sentences) that is easily understood by those who receive it.

If you are making a request on behalf of someone else who is not a family member, it is very important that you first get permission from the person or family for whom we are praying. If necessary use first names only, or “friend,” “sister” etc. until permission is received.

Note: Once the prayer is sent out to the prayer chain it is a public prayer. Your request will go out to everyone on the prayer chain (including the Pastor).  If you want a confidential prayer, you must send it specifically to the Moderator of the Deacons or to the Pastor with a request to keep the prayer confidential.

Thank you for being a part of this important ministry of our church!
